The warehouse located at 19 George Street, Helensburgh, G84 7PR will be opened on Saturday 4th May 2013 between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm and on Sunday 5th May 2013 between 10.00am and 2.00 pm.
Over the past four months the Project Team has made significant progress and would be delighted to meet with as many local people and interested groups as possible to discuss the current plans and proposals. Back in January the Team launched an appeal to raise the £2 million required to bring the project to fruition and will be on hand to explain latest progress and next steps, and of course visitors to the site will get the opportunity to see the building’s potential.
The objective of the Heroes Centre is to create a social hub offering meaningful benefits to all members of a local community using an approach and model that can be adopted and replicated by other local communities.
The Heroes Centre proposals provide for the following:
• A 50s Diner
• A two screen digital cinema
• Dedicated teaching/learning areas providing education and training in the skills and technologies called for in a digital, information driven Economy/Society
• An exhibition/display area showcasing local ‘heroes’ and their achievements.
