The Scottish Charity Helensburgh Heroes will be revealing detailed plans for its proposed Digital Academy and Entertainment Centre at two Open Days planned for the May Bank holiday weekend.
The Open Days will provide members of the local community and interested parties with the opportunity to view the building and discuss all aspects of the proposals with the project team.
The Charity proposes to create a pilot ‘model’ in Helensburgh of a vibrant multipurpose venue, that combines a digital academy with community facilities, set against the backdrop of inspirational local role models – the ‘Heroes’ in the title – that can be rolled out throughout Scotland, providing its citizens with local access to positive learning and recreational environments and opportunities to develop their skills, confidence and self esteem to the fullest potential.
Several key components of the planned Heroes Centre will be featured at the Open Days.
Visitors will be able to:
Watch a video providing an artist’s impression of the Heroes Centre
View Gordon Reid’s – Men’s World #6 Wheelchair Tennis Star – London 2012 Paralympic suit and have the opportunity to be photographed with a London 2012 Olympic Torch
Help the Heroes Centre Project Team make a Vox Pop video in the Green Screen Studio
Enjoy refreshments prepared by local Primary and S1 Pupils – the Fabulous Baking Kidz!
Enjoy a guided tour of the building

Please do try and join us! We understand how busy most people are at the weekends, but we hope that as many local residents of all ages as possible will find a few minutes to join us at one of the Open Days.
We think you’ll be genuinely surprised at both the vision and the scale of the final plans for the Centre and more importantly just how advanced the overall project is in terms of coming to fruition.
