Ambassadors – Paul Murdoch

Paul Murdoch

Author, writer and musician Paul Murdoch grew up beside Loch Lomond on the very edge of the Scottish Highlands.

Having gained an honours degree in Zoology at Glasgow University, Paul has always maintained a strong interest in ecology and the environment.

As a musician, Paul became involved in song writing in the late 70’s and throughout the years has toured as a guitarist in the UK, Holland and America. He moved on from song writing to poetry, short stories and eventually on to his first novel, The Magic Scales, published in 2005, and the first in the Denthan series of children’s fantasy adventures featuring an asthmatic boy, James Peck, as its’ hero.

In addition to his novels, Paul has authored a series of books, with animal and numeracy themes, aimed at 3 – 7 year olds – the Tiffy and Toffy picture books. With such wonderful titles as The squashed worm and bramble pie, And the Tower of Cheese and the Rat who couldn’t sleep these books are set to enchant and entertain children for generations to come.

Paul regularly tours Schools and Libraries across the UK giving ‘Just Imagine’ sessions, where he explores children’s own creativity and imagination.

When he is not writing, touring or seeking to inspire a new generation of authors, Paul champions the work of the charity Asthma UK, by raising awareness of the condition through his work with children.

Paul has also formed his own publishing company Neetah Books.
